#Windows 7 does not restart properly vmware fusion 7 full#
I've modified the Win7 VM display settings in Fusion (changed "Use full resolution for retina display" section, "Scaled high resolution" dropdown from "Unity only" to "all view modes" and now I can see the Windows login screen in half the width and height of the main display. However, replugging the external monitor on every machine boot is not my idea of fun or "just working".
When this first happened, I disconnected the Dell monitor, rebooted, logged in to Windows on a single screen, then plugged the Dell back in and it worked. In the VM library preview, I can see the login screen, but in the Windows Space, nothing. Windows shows the 'BIOS' screen and then the 'starting windows' graphical screen, then goes black. This is a minor annoyance but nothing more. Windows 7 no longer auto-starts with Fusion (despite still being set to do so). I've just updated OSX to El Capitan and now it's borked:ฤก. Previously, I'd start Fusion and Windows 7 would automatically start, as it's set to do it would start in its own space and use both displays, with the 'main' windows desktop (with task bar) on the Mac screen, and the Dell being used to extend the desktop space (exactly like OSX). Windows 7 guest OS (and a couple of Ubuntu VMs, not relevant here).
